“Honoring Kenosha’s History” is the theme for the 2017 Kenosha Civic Veterans Parade presented by Snap-on. Parade entrants are encouraged to highlight their own history in Kenosha – or celebrate milestones from the city’s past. Applications are now available for the parade, which steps off at 1 p.m. Sunday, July 2.
Snap-on has a long tradition of involvement in the parade, with sponsorship of veterans groups, parade divisions and creative float entries decorated by employees. Snap-on took on the role of presenting sponsor in 2016.
The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has awarded the City of Kenosha a Loan Guarantee to construct a new fire station at 2210 52nd Street, the site of the former Bain Elementary School. This public notice is issued as part of the City of Kenosha’s responsibilities to identify and assess the effects of any proposed actions on historic properties. If any proposed action will have an adverse effect on historic resources, the City of Kenosha will work with the appropriate parties to seek ways to avoid, minimize, or mitigate any adverse effects. Additionally, the City of Kenosha will consider the views of the public on preservation issues when making final decisions that affect historic properties.
