Employees Not Represented By a Union
Vacation leave is provided to regular full-time employees who have completed the required number of years of continuous service as provided below:

Employees shall be allowed to carry-over a maximum of eighty (80) hours of unused vacation leave into the next calendar year, which must be used by June 30th or forfeited without pay. One additional day (8 hours) per month is provided to Department Heads in lieu of compensation for overtime worked.
Employees Represented by American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees (AFSCME Local 71 Transit)
Employees with full-time, regular status shall earn vacation leave for each month of continuous employment during which they perform work at least half of their scheduled work days in accordance with the following table based on anniversary dates of employment.

If the eligible employee’s anniversary date falls on or before the 15th of the month, he or she shall be credited for vacation leave under the higher vacation accumulation formula for that month.
If the eligible employee’s anniversary date falls on or after the 16th day of the month, he or she shall be credited for vacation leave under the lower vacation accumulation formula for that month. In the latter case, vacation leave shall be accumulated under the higher formula beginning with the month following the employee’s anniversary date. For purposes of this section, time paid shall be considered time worked.
Employees Represented by Amalgamated Transit Union (ATU)
Vacation (annual leave) is provided to eligible full-time employees who have completed the required number of years of continuous service. Leave is earned for each month of employment during which an employee works at least half of their scheduled work days in accordance with the following schedule, based on anniversary date of employment:

On January 1st of each year, employees are credited with their full annual leave accumulation for that year based on their anniversary date. Annual leave must be used within the year it is earned.
Employees Represented by International Association of Firefighters (IAFF)
All new employees shall receive one (1) day of vacation for every three (3) months of employment during their first calendar year of employment. Employees must work the majority of the scheduled work days in the month to be eligible for such accrual.
Vacations are to be run on a regular rotation basis unless the employee is promoted to a higher classification.

Employees Represented by Kenosha Professional Police Association (KPPA)
Employees who have completed the required number of years of continuous service shall earn annual leave for each month of employment during which they work at least half of their scheduled workdays in accordance with the following tables based on anniversary dates of employment.

On January 1st of each year, employees shall be credited with their full annual leave accumulation for that year based upon the above table. It is mutually understood and agreed that such accumulation is an advance credit and any employee who leaves the service of the City during a year for any reason, except death, shall have his/her vacation accumulation prorated for that year and that any such employee who has used more leave than the prorated amount shall be liable to pay the City, in cash, for all such additional time off.
