    Union Park Art Market

    Artists will set up their 10×10 tents, and sell their artwork. Some artists may demonstrate their work by painting or doing ceramics in the park. Music students from the Conservatory of Music may play un-amplified guitar, vocal, or other instrumental music. There may be live theater and live actors as well.

    Tuesdays at the Shell

    Free, public concerts take place at 6 p.m. every Tuesday, July 9 - August 27 at the Pennoyer Bandshell located at Seventh Avenue and Kennedy Drive. Supporting sponsors include: Miller Lite, Frank J. Parise Law Offices, TG's Restaurant and Pub, Molly's Loft, Faded Barbershop for Men, Union Park Tavern and CD-DVD-Games. Food and soft drinks are available for purchase at the concerts.

    The band for August 20 is Doo-Wop Daddies, a Doo-Wop band performing classic music of the '50s and '60s in a fresh, new light.

    Peanut Butter & Jam Concert Series

    The popular outdoor concert series features two performances each Thursday in July and August on the Meijer and Heating & Cooling Solutions Stage. Bring your lawn chair or blanket. Refreshments available for purchase, or pack your own picnic. Admission is FREE.

    Aug. 22: 7th Heaven is a Chicago based rock band that has been heard on radio stations in the Chicagoland area with their hits “This Is Where The Party’s At,” “Time Of Our Lives,” “Beautiful Life,” “Spotlight,” “Better This Way” and “Sing.” Having been at the top of the Midwest Billboard Charts three times in the past three years, 7th Heaven is an experience you just have to see and hear.

    Friday Night Flicks

    “Shazam” We all have a superhero inside us – it just takes a bit of magic to bring it
    out. In 14 year-old Billy Batson’s case, all he needs to do is shout out one word to transform
    into the adult superhero Shazam.

     

     

     

    The free outdoor movie screening series
    takes place at dusk on the following Friday evenings: June 14 and 28, July 12, and August 2 and 23. The June 14 and 28, July 12 and August 23 screenings will be held at at Nash School located on 99th Avenue. The August 2 screening will be held at Lincoln Park on 22nd Avenue and 71st Street.
