Welcome, and thank you for taking time to learn about the Operations Division of the Kenosha Police Department. Operations includes both the Patrol and Investigative Divisions of the department.

The Patrol Division consists of three patrol shifts staffed by uniformed police officers and supervisors. These officers are responsible for patrolling our streets and neighborhoods, and responding to requests for service. The Patrol officers use all available methods and skills to combat crime and enforce laws. These include Bicycle Units, Motorcycle Units, K-9 Teams, and Walking Beats. They are simply the best quality officers you will find anywhere.

The Investigations Division is staffed by Detectives charged with the follow-up investigation of reported crimes. Working with patrol officers and using advanced investigative procedures that include crime-mapping software, surveillance equipment and expert investigative skill, we achieve a clearance rate that is envied by departments nationwide.

Members of both the Patrol and Investigative Divisions comprise the Special Investigations Unit (SIU) and staff specialized units such as the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Team, and, in conjunction with the Kenosha County Sherriff's Department, the Hazardous Device (Bomb) Unit.
