Friday, July 4, 2008
Harbor Park, 56th Street and 1st Ave; and Wolfenbuttel Park, 5901 3rd Avenue

The City celebrates with family fun on the lakefront!

KIDS BIKE PARADE RETURNS!

After a two-year absence because of HarborPark construction, the Kids Bike Parade returns at 5pm. Families are encouraged to provide their own decorations for their child's bike. The City will have a very limited quantity of decorations available from the Kenosha Public Museum's (5500 First Avenue) greeters' desk beginning at 3pm on a first-come, first-served basis until the supply is depleted. At 5pm, the Kenosha Police Department bicycle patrol will lead the parade around Ring Road on the east end of HarborPark. Ring Road will be closed to motor vehicles during this parade.

MUSIC ON THE LAKEFRONT!

HarborPark visitors will enjoy live music from the rock group, The Ferrarees, from 6pm to 9pm. This free concert will be held just east of the Kenosha Public Museum's (5500 First Avenue) parking lot. Food vendors will be available at this location, too!

In Wolfenbuttel Park, 5901 Third Avenue, the Kenosha Pops Concert Band will continue their July 4th tradition with patriotic music from 7pm to 9pm. The Patriot Guard Riders will be celebrating with the Pops, too! Food vendors will be available at this location, also.

VISIT THE KENOSHA PUBLIC MUSEUM!

The Kenosha Public Museum, 5500 First Avenue, invites everyone to visit from 1pm to 5pm. Kids can create holiday pasta necklaces and star twirlers at the Kenosha Public Museum.

The Civil War Museum and Dinosaur Discovery Museum are closed on July 4th.

AND FIREWORKS, OF COURSE!

The fireworks show begins at about 9:30pm. The display is launched from the east end of HarborPark, and it can be viewed from many areas along Kenosha's lakefront.
