This event marks the one-year anniversary of the opening of the Civil War Museum and will focus on the Lincoln Bicentennial. Activities include:
- On Friday, June 12, 2009, meet BILL KURTIS, Chicago area
journalist and Civil War historian,
and MICHELLE MARTIN,
Civil War reenactor, in this personal,
theatrical presentation. This is a special ticketed event. Call the Civil War Museum at 262-653-4141 for more information.
- Keynote speaker James MacPherson will discuss the history of the Civil War with a focus on the Upper Middle West.
- Theater presentations featuring actors portraying Cordelia Harvey, the "Wisconsin Angel" who helped improve conditions for wounded soldiers and William Herndon, Lincoln's law partner.
- Professional storyteller Tom Clark will share Civil War era stories.
- Civil War era music and activities for children and adults, crafts, and period games.
- A late 18th century art fair featuring tin-types, woodcarving, weaving, and blacksmithing.
- Musket drills and a live eagle during the "Eagle and Friends" program by the Schlitz Audubon Center.
