Street Tree Planting Program

Tree planting along streets in the parkway is regulated by the City of Kenosha Forestry Ordinance, Chapter 34.

Permit Planting Program

Property owners contact the Park Department to request a permit for tree planting. The City Forester may issue the permit and provide information on the number of trees possible, size requirements, spacing and species selection. There is no charge for a permit.

Other Information

• Parcels with 120 feet of street frontage are permitted more than one tree.
• Request and Replacement Trees are 2 inches in diameter and 8 to 10 feet tall.
• Tree care instructions provided at time of planting.
• Low growing trees must be selected under power lines.
• Trees must be 30' from street corner, street light, traffic sign or traffic light.
• Parkways must be 4' or wider to qualify.
