CITY DEPARTMENTS : PARKS : KEEP KENOSHA BEAUTIFUL : PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS

PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS

  • Neighborhood Cleanups
    Neighbors work together to improve
parks, vacant lots and other public spaces
    by keeping them litter-free.

  • Beach Cleanups
Each spring and fall over 2,000 participants
    spruce up Lake Michigan shoreline.

  • Inkjet & Laser Cartridge Recycling
    Empty computer printer cartridges are
recycled and refilled for new use.

  • Festival of Arts & Flowers
KKB teams up with Kenosha Unified
Schools in July for a day of art, music,
    gardening “how-to” projects, and craft
    workshops for kids.

  • Community Educational Outreach
    Speakers from Keep Kenosha Beautiful
provide presentations on a variety of
topics for school groups, clubs, churches,
    scouts and service organizations.

  • “Nice Job, Neighbor” Recognition
Citizens are awarded for their residential
    beautification efforts.

  • “Adopt-a-Spot”
Groups and individuals can adopt a small
public space, plant perennials, and pledge
to keep it weed and litter-free for one year.
Volunteers maintain their spot with weeding,
watering, and a little “TLC.” A sign is
installed at the adopted spot to recognize
their hard work and beautification efforts.
