City of Kenosha Menu

The Kenosha Fire Department Honor Guard was formed in 1995. The team’s primary responsibility is to represent the Fire Department at funerals of both active and retired members. This would include offering any assistance needed to the family of the deceased, providing pall bearers, standing Honor Guard “watch” at the casket, posting colors, ringing a fire bell “Last Alarm,” bagpipers, fire truck display, and coordinating any logistical plans with the funeral home. If requested, the Honor Guard will travel to other cities to both represent the Kenosha Fire Department and assist that department with arrangements.

The Honor Guard also participates in various civic functions when requested, such as flag raising ceremonies, veteran memorial dedications, etc.

Participation in the Honor Guard is voluntary, utilizing personnel both on-duty and off-duty.
