HYDRANT PERMIT
  • Purpose of Permit
  To obtain a hydrant meter for the use and metering of water from a City fire hydrant.
Who May Apply?
  Contractors.
Is A Fee Required?
  Yes. Fees are listed below.
  • Expiration Date
  90 days after permit is issued.
Important Information.
 

Contractor or business are required to state the proposed location and their intended use for the hydrant meter.

Kenosha Water Utility obtains readings from the meter on a monthly basis. When the hydrant permit expires, follow-up is started if the hydrant meter is not returned.

SWIMMING POOL
Purpose of Permit
  For Kenosha Water Utility to fill a private swimming pool.
Who May Apply?
  Homeowner.
Is A Fee Required?
  Yes. Fees are listed below.
Important Information.
 

Kenosha Water Utility staff will inspect the requested location to determine if a fire hydrant is in an appropriate location to fill the homeowner's pool.

Work is performed by Kenosha Water Utility staff, including the opening and closing of hydrant.

Homeowner may not attempt to open or close City hydrant.

TEMPORARY WATER SERVICE

Purpose of Permit
 

To allow for the connection to the municipal water supply and use of unmetered water.

When Is A Temporary Water Service Permit Required?
 

It is required for all new retail customers as well as new construction projects.

Is A Fee Required?
  Yes. Fees vary from zoning district to zoning district. All fees are automatically assessed on your new building permit when making a new connection.
  • Expiration Date
 

Permit is good for 270 days or until a meter is set and an occupancy permit has been issued.

Building and construction water service fees are assessed for the following uses:

• One and two family dwellings
• Commercial, industrial, institutional and multi-family buildings
